Hopland Hikes: Native California Flora

Spring is here! With it comes the promise of new life, marked by the budding blossoms of our California native flora. Register for an intermediate 4.3- mile guided hike at the Hopland Research and Extension Center on Saturday, March 2nd @9am. Enjoy beautiful views of Sanel Valley and Duncan's Peak along our "Cell Tower Loop", which boasts a 546ft elevation change and some challenging incline. Discover the wonders of the oak woodland's native flora as guided by our GrizzlyCorps research fellow, Lily Elola.

$10 adults, $5 children 16 and under

Bring a packed lunch if you would like to enjoy lunch on the Shippey Hall patio after the hike.

NO DOGS: Due to our management of sheep with guard animals on this site.



Directions:  From downtown Hopland (intersection of Highways 101 and 175), take Highway 175 east toward Lakeport. Cross the Russian River and at the traffic circle take the second exit onto Old River Road (also marked "Road 201"). Next, turn right onto University Road (there is a UC sign at the intersection). Drive up University Road for approximately 3.5 miles, you will see signs for Rod Shippey Hall parking.
